The
optical assortment of jewels makes far higher throughput possible with
better yield in relation to the classical assortment with x-ray. This
isnot only safety-relevant problematic and maintenance-intensive, but
also
does not recognize in particular high-quality diamonds, since
these do not flourescent due to missing inclusions. Owing to the
diamond of sorter GemStar developed by OptoSort a simple and fast
sorting from diamonds to under 2mm grain size is possible. The yield
for the grain size 1-4mm amounts to < 0,8% with a recognition of
95%
for brilliant and 90% for smoky diamonds and a throughput of 4 tph. In
this way also the unused material on clearing waste dumps can be used
with low expenditure. By pre-sorting the kimberlitedirectly in
the mining area besides the productivity can be
substantial increased.
